Tesoro means “treasure” in Italian and Spanish and the name best exemplifies the upscale and adult-exclusive dining experience you’ll find here. The restaurant is located on the fifth floor in the JW Marriott hotel and offers a direct view of the Gulf of Mexico. The environment is described as chic and relaxing with a smart casual dress code although many guests prefer to dress in business attire. Waterfront dining doesn’t get much better than Tesoro.
Tesoro offers dinner service from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The
menu offers a selection of small plates (tapas) with strong influence from Mediterranean cuisine. Guests can complement the small plates with a selection of Flatbreads, a Charcuterie platter, and more.
The menu also offers “Substantial Plates” which isn’t meant for sharing among guests. Choices include fish, seafood, pork, steak, and chicken. Guests can complement their meal with one of the restaurant’s specialty cocktails, Sangrias with a modern twist, or a bottle of wine from the wine wall.
A separate food menu is available for guests eating at the bar and lounge, including a raw bar and chilled seafood. The Outdoor Bar and Lounge is open from 11:00 a.m. to 10 p.m. and offers a small selection of “Pool Day” food items.
Reservations are highly encouraged but not mandatory.
Tesoro is one of very few fine dining restaurants on Marco Island that the Sun King has yet to visit. Even the Sun King can get stuck in a groove of old favorites. He has put Tesoro on his list and should have a review very soon.
