Korals is located in the upscale JW Marriott hotel lobby with a direct view of the pool courtyard and beach. Korals’ menu focuses mostly on sushi with fresh ingredients from the sea. The restaurant is open daily from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and dinner service begins at 5:00 p.m.
The sushi menu offers a combination of classic rolls like California and Philly. Signature rolls are more elegant, such as the Dragon Roll which includes BBQ glazed eel, spicy crab, and tempura shrimp. A smaller selection of small plates can be ordered, including Tuna Tataki, Lemongrass Chicken Pot Stickers, or a cheeseboard.
The drink menu is very extensive and includes multiple martinis, mojitos and sake choices. Wine can be ordered by the glass or bottle and there are a few beer options available.
The Whiskey and Scotch menu stands out with more than 50 choices from multiple regions at different price points. Guests can complete their sushi with one of four Japanese Whiskey choices, including a 12-year or 18-year Yamazaki.
Sun King Vacation Rental guests who aren’t staying at the hotel can self-park for $5 for up to three hours. Valet parking for a three-hour time block is also available for $10.
Korals is typical JW Marriot. The atmosphere is incredible. The design of the dining room is truly fantastic. The sushi is well-done. Korals is perfect for a date night. Now, does the Sun King eat sushi here? Yes, occasionally. However, he likes the sushi (and the prices) better at Thai Sushi. It’s casual. The Sapporo is freakin’ ice cold and the sushi is delicious.
