The Crazy Flamingo is famous for its fresh shucked oysters, clams, and mussels in a very casual environment. The restaurant is known for the quality of its ingredients and prides itself on only using AA butter and pure olive oil. To help keep costs low, guests order at a counter and there is no table service.
The restaurant emphasizes the freshness of its products and advertises its peel & eat shrimp is cooked to order and not chilled in the fridge. Clams on the ½ shell are also chucked to order.
Despite a seafood-heavy
menu, The Crazy Flamingo offers a little something to satisfy everyone’s taste. Burgers, Chicken Wings, salads, sandwiches, and much more can be found. A kid’s menu offers children-friendly options including Macaroni & Cheese.
Like at Cocomo’s, guests can also bring their own fish to be cooked family-style with a side salad and french fries for a fee.
The bar serves domestic and imported beers and happy hour takes place all day every day with $2 pint specials. Wine by the bottle or glass can also be ordered.
The Crazy Flamingo has been in operation for more than three decades and many TripAdvisor and Yelp reviews highlight its status as a local favorite.
The Sun King loves The Crazy Flamingo. The “come as you are” vibe is a welcome alternative to all of the fine-white-linen-type dining on Marco Island. If cold beer is your thing, you can’t do much better than Crazy’s. Most of the bottles are buried in ice. The keg refrigerator is c-c-c-cold too. For food, the Sun King usually goes for the grilled Mahi platter with rice. The juicy burgers may be the best on the island. Check it out on your next Marco Island
vacation.
